Kizito was baptized by Charles Lwanga on the evening of May 25, 1886, just before the group was taken to Namugongo. His youth and innocence, coupled with his strong faith, made his martyrdom particularly poignant. Kizito’s joyful and trusting nature was evident even as he faced death, and he became a symbol of purity and youthful devotion to God. On June 3, 1886, he was burned alive alongside his companions at Namugongo
St. Kizito, the youngest of the Uganda Martyrs, was born in 1872 and martyred at the age of 14. Despite his young age, Kizito’s faith was profound and steadfast. He was a page in King Mwanga II’s court and was deeply influenced by the Christian teachings of the missionaries and the example of older Christians like St. Charles Lwanga.
